V.I. Pets Division (Jillian's Exotics LLC)

I have been going to V.I. Pets since I was a kid in the 90's living in Gaines township. It has always been such a cool pet store and is the place I think of most when needing to find anything pet related, even though I haven't lived in that area for a long time. In recent years, the customer service is generally not as good as it used to be, and I've nearly given up using this store as an option in my search for pet supplies. But we decided to give it one more shot and came in yesterday looking for an aquarium set up. The start of the visit was typical to our recent experiences - where nobody asks you if you need anything and was difficult to find someone available and willing to assist. But since the store has so much to look at, our curiosity took us around the store to patiently give

absolutely amazing service. called 1 store they got ahold of the other called me back told me they had the fish i was looking for. went in looked around tanks are very well maintained. fish are healthy. my red tail i bought is absolutely thriving. the guy maintaining it all was very knowledgeable on fish. will absolutely travel another 2hr 30mins to come here again!!

VIP pets is a great place to find your next healthy pet. I can only speak for the quality of the fish but as a former aquarist for the national aquarium I can say that their commitment to healthy, humane aquatics is evident in the fish room as well as with the knowledgeable caring staff. I admit that their main concern is the health and wellbeing of the animals they sell and that can come off in a way that some might perceive as a lack of customer service but if you keep understand this going in I think you’ll find that you have a great experience and the quality of the fish is excellent.

They have a beautiful selection!! Me and my boyfriend recently got two baby white tree frogs. (They are doing amazing and recently switched to crickets and we got them a very tall tank. They love their new humid home.) We didn’t know much about them, but went into the store knowing we wanted that breed of frog seeing they had it on their website. We arrived at the store and looked around for about 20-30 minutes. We searched and searched for the frogs not able to find them, not a single worker came up to help us until we found them. We went to checkout explaining this is our first time with frogs and we need a little help and the cashier was incredibly rude and dismissive, seemingly annoyed we didn’t know everything making it seem like a big deal when we asked for advice. Amazing spot for all your pet and exotic pet needs! I've been going to these guys for years and go CLEAR across town just to patron them! The customer service is TOP TIER! These guys know what they are doing and treat your pet and all your pet related questions/issues as if it were regarding their own pets! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
