Veterinary Urgent Care Center - Narragansett

First time going to Veterinary Urgent care center in Narragansett and the best experience I've had. The fact that you can walk in and not have to pay "Emergency hospital" prices was amazing. My dog hurt his paw and has been limping for the past couple of days. I called my primary care vet (who we love) but they had no availability to see him today and they recommended VUCC.... And I'm so glad they did. It was a bit of a drive for me as I live in Connecticut bordering RI, however they were amazing with him. It made the hour drive so worth it. They were thorough...I didn't have to wait long at all... They took him right in. They were so good with my boy... They took such great care of him. Thank God, it's nothing serious.. My experience at the urgent care center was great. My dog needed an allergy shot and had some another issue I was concerned about. Ufortunately, my regular vet was away at a conference.The urgent care center made it easy for me to get him treatment as soon as possible. It was very helpful that I could make an appointment online. I was able to get in at my chosen time with no wait time. That is something I don't get at my regular vet! The facility is clean and the staff and doctor wete so helpful. The whole experience was so positive. I would definitely recommend this facility if you have some urgent need for your pet and can't see your regular vet.

If you are considering this vet for putting your dog down, think twice — my experience was traumatic and handled without care. My dog was never properly examined, despite being charged for a medical exam, which is legally required prior to euthanasia. I am fully aware that an exam is required and that there is a legitimate charge for it, but when it’s not done and completely dismissed, I do not expect to pay for something that wasn’t completed. The hospital tried to justify this by relying on prior records, but the records were incomplete and outdated. Reviewing old records is not a substitute for examining the patient in front of you, and no physical exam was performed. We brought our nearly 12-year-old Pit Mix rescue in and Dr Day and the entire staff were so mindful of our stranger-nervous boy and his needs. They were kind, patient and very knowledgeable. Two days on meds and he is almost back to his normal shenanigans! Our thanks and love to this staff- we are so happy to have found this safe space for our emergency needs. Highly recommend!

My dog had a hot spot. We made an online appointment and when we got to the front desk, we were taken immediately to an exam room! My reactive dog was calmer than I have ever seen him at the vet's or the groomers. Everyone that treated him were very nice and explained everything very well. I would not hesitate to come here again!
