You can tell they are animal lovers here. They took us right away and were kind, accommodating and patient the whole way through. They explained everything to me clearly and repeatedly. Top notch care. Dr. Malik Chennault and the nurses that helped me (I believe one was Joy?) were all great. I am adding a photo of Luna being comforted while receiving the gentlest blood pressure check with the teensiest pressure cuff.

I’m grateful VEG operates 24/7—it’s reassuring to know help is available for pets at any hour. Parking was free and convenient, and the hospital is in a nice area. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. However, I’m unsure about the quality of care. Our dog was scratching excessively, and I suggested it might be an allergic reaction. The initial visit cost $225, and they recommended shaving the area ($136) and giving an injection to stop the itching ($230). I questioned the injection because I didn’t want to just mask symptoms. Shortly after we declined, our dog developed bumps and hives, confirming an allergic reaction, which was then treated appropriately. While I appreciate the availability and kindness, I wish the diagnosis had been clearer from the start and that treatment options

The most incredible vet or emergency vet experience I have ever had. I was so emotional just at the service and how reassured I felt. I thought I would be sitting there for hours before my kitty was seen. She is nearing end of life and this was hard enough and getting help has been so difficult until I came here. This place is truly exceptional. They helped me so much. It was also so clean, I got to be there and participate in her care and see what they were doing. It’s so scary these days when you see what happens to pets behind closed doors. This was so reassuring…It was also nice they sent me my report and notes right away without me having to ask. I wish they also had a primary care clinic!! I would be there for sure. I hope to not have any more emergencies but if I do I will be going

I don’t normally write reviews, but I felt compelled to share how exceptional our experience was with Dr. Malik Chennault at VEG Santa Monica. My Aussie Mountain Doodle, Henry, was wailing in pain, nonstop crying and scratching at his ear. I’d heard great things about VEG from friends and rushed him over. From the moment we arrived, the experience was calm, compassionate, and efficient. The receptionist immediately walked me inside, sat me down on a couch, and checked us in right there. Within two minutes, a nurse was checking Henry’s vitals, and just a few minutes later Dr. Chennault came over to introduce himself. What stood out right away was how much time he spent with Henry before doing anything clinical — playing with him, getting him comfortable, and making sure he felt safe. Afte

This was the best ER experience I’ve ever had. I can’t say enough kind things about the staff and just my experience as a whole. I ended up here in the middle of the night and they were able to get me and my dog right in. You are brought right into the treatment room with your pet and you get to be apart of the whole process. It’s a really refreshing take on a normally extremely stressful environment. I have only good things to say!! Kit took such amazing care of my dog, who can be a bit of a handful. Kit made sure to explain everything they were doing with such care! And Hallie made sure to take care of me, bringing me water and offering snacks! Amazing overnight staff! I’m so thankful for them!!
