The best part though, was we never had to leave our girl's side. While they worked on her, we were encouraged to stay right there and keep loving on her. When the time came, we made the decision to end our girls suffering and everything was so well though out. We were able to say our goodbyes in a private room with all the tissues we could need! From the very second we came through the door the team of veterinary professionals were on it. They were on her vitals, placed an IV, and started her on pain relief. Then came the trocar to relieve pressure, she was given anesthesia, scrubbed up, then into surgery she went. Dr Mac and her team worked quickly and with precision. Sadly our puppy was diagnosed with parvo - within an hour our primary vet referred us and VEG had us admitted. VEG set our expectations upfront that Parvo is tricky business and it’s a 50/50 chance of survival. But they did everything in their power to help little Lucy and sure enough after a 24 hour stay she is back home with us and recovering SO well! Dr. Logan, Gail and the whole team were attentive, answered our 100 questions, concerned, kept us informed of what was going on and even let us stay the night to be with her. Even after getting home, I’ve been able to call with questions or concerns without feeling like I’m being a bother. I hate that anyone would have to take their pet to an ER vet, but if you must, then VEG is the best place to take them ❤️‍🩹

Last week we had the worst day of our lives, with our sweet dog Lorelei becoming suddenly very weak and sick. She was 13 so we were not sure if this was her time, or a treatable illness. We called at 4am and the doctor answered and gave us compassionate guidance on what our options were. We brought her in at 5am and she was seen by the doctor immediately. The doctor and the rest of the staff were so kind and gentle with her as well as making sure we were ok, giving us water and tissues. They were thoughtful about what exams to perform without causing her distress and they were so incredibly careful with how they presented the worst news to us. It was Lorelei’s time.
