We brought our dog to the emergency vet on February 4th 2026 during a very scary seizure emergency, and I cannot say enough about the care we received from Dr. Heather Magnuson (name on invoice but cannot remember if this was the correct doctor, pls correct me if I am wrong) and the entire staff. From the moment we arrived, my husband and I could see how quickly they moved and how seriously they took her condition. They treated her with urgency while also showing so much compassion toward us during such a frightening time. After being discharged, she unfortunately continued having seizures at home. We took her to her primary vet in Lefferts where she received IV medication throughout the day, but when we brought her home that evening, she still was not improving. Around midnight, we made

The nurses at this vet hospital were very kind and took great care of my dog. They were attentive and made sure she stayed comfortable during the visit. However, the doctor informed me that my dog had a ruptured intestine and needed emergency surgery that would cost $10–20k. I was also told she might not make it through the night without surgery, and euthanasia was presented as an option. Because I couldn’t afford that amount, I decided to take her home and get a second opinion. I brought her to Grady Animal Hospital in Sayville, where the staff reviewed her condition and looked over the report from this hospital. VEG is an excellent veterinarian facility and I would highly recommend them to all of my family and friends with pets! They truly care about their pets as patients and their families. The entire staff is patient and kind. Dr Akkaya is absolutely amazing! She saved our dog's life and I am forever grateful!!!

Anyone who knows me knows my dogs are the absolute, hands-down most important thing to me — they are my children. For sure. I take their care extremely seriously and am highly discerning, if not demanding, when it comes to their care — and VEG has surpassed any expectations I can come up with every single time. And this last visit was no different. Not only did the doctor possibly save my sweet little one’s life, but they put me and my dog in a private room with a pull-out couch and gave her a moving IV stand so she could stay with me. Instead of being in a metal crate, she recovered laying down with me — I could not believe it. And if that was not enough, as a blizzard approached, the doctor assured me that if I needed to, God forbid, come back, they had doctors staying in nearby hotels

I am so grateful for VEG. They are so friendly and I love how you can stay in back and even watch your animals surgery. I know it’s not for everyone but I’m a person that needs to stay and see. My dog is home but I had a concern so I called tonight with a question and the Veterinarian was so wonderful. Of course emergency vets are more expensive but this was worth every cent. They saved my Lucy and a thank you will never be enough ♥️
