Customer Reviews
If you have a pet emergency, this is where you need to go. They triage your pet asap after entering the door. Our elderly pup was seen right away, and most notably in our presence. The main floor and treatment area truly is open concept. There are several exam tables right out in the open floor area, so your pet (family member to us) isn't whisked away out of sight, as is the case in every other vet clinic nowadays. There are even gurneys available for patient transport from the parking lot to inside the facility. The staff are knowledgeable, professional, attentive, and caring. We was prepared for and expecting a hefty bill at the end of our visit, but pleasantly surprised. We opted not to do lab work as we were fairly confident of his diagnosis and outcome, so that may have contributed
Baxter and I had a wonderful experience when we visited VEG in Palm Desert. From the first phone call on VEG was welcoming and knowledgeable and upfront about costs. When we arrived we were immediately greeted and Baxter’s vitals were taken and we were made very comfortable on a nice couch while we waited for Dr Nelson. It was so nice to not have to go into “the room”. Dr Nelson examined Baxter as I held him and explained everything as he went along. It was a very thorough exam and he was very gentle. VEG suggests you use your own Vet for dental care so this was a great way to have a second opinion on an emergency basis when you cannot get in to see your regular Vet. The total cost was $195 for great care and a pleasant experience. We are so lucky to have VEG in the desert!
My dog has had a few visits to this ER during the past year, but each time the staff and service were excellent. VEG does their best to make you and your pet comfortable. This time Bear was examined by Dr. Nelson, who was very kind and thorough with his diagnosis. The nurses were all very careful and gentle with him throughout the process. Dom helped us through the final stages of our visit and was very sweet and friendly with my boy. He was in very good hands. I cannot thank the staff at VEG enough for being an available emergency service here in Palm Desert. Without them I'm not sure we would've gotten care for Bears troubles.
This place was absolutely the best! Each and every staff member were incredible and compassionate. They worked together as such a great team and truly showed passion for what they do. We had the scariest experience with our 10 year old chihuahua Peanut. She tried to eat a piece of orange chicken and choked on it. We found her collapsed on the floor in the kitchen. My daughter yelled out something was wrong with her and when she brought her to me she appeared to be seizing. As I was trying to clear her throat she went completely unresponsive and her tongue turned grey. After I got the chicken out she still wasn’t breathing or moving. I did cpr on her for 1 to 2 minutes and got her back but her breathing was loud and labored. She was coughing but still not herself. We rushed her to VEG in Pa
Our vet sent us over for a blood transfusion, which ultimately didn’t happen, but everyone is involved and compassionate. They did schedule a test (we have a young, very sick rescue cat) and that was great. It’s a unique vet in that everyone is essentially one big room, with a few smaller rooms around the perimeter. They greet you the second you get there and keep you informed on everything. The best part was they don’t take you fur baby away. They do about everything with you helping keep the baby calm. This level of care is not inexpensive and I saw they accept Care Credit. Sorry if you are trying to find an ER Vet.
