VEG ER for Pets

Our family is beyond grateful for the incredible team at VEG ER in Katy. They helped us find out what was wrong with our sweet German Shepherd, Lola. Although the diagnosis was not what we had hoped for, the team walked us through everything with honesty, clarity, and deep compassion. They helped us understand what was happening and gently guided us through our options, so we could make one of the most difficult decisions of our lives. Once we made that decision, their care and empathy meant everything to us. Janicia, the vet tech, made sure we had a private room to spend our final moments with Lola. Another great experience at VEG! No one ever WANTS to be here with their pets, but I know when I need emergency vet care that my fur baby and MYSELF will be taken care of here. I have been in Vet Med for over 30 years so it’s a blessing and a curse at times when you KNOW something is wrong with your baby. Dr. Hellings is fantastic and didn't try to push any diagnostics or treatments that weren’t truly necessary. She nailed the diagnosis and my fur baby will still follow up with her internist, but she is so much better now thanks to everyone there. Janecia was an amazing tech and went above and beyond to make us comfortable and kept me supplied with coffee so I could stay awake! While it was not an ideal Saturday night, the team at this vet ER did an amazing job helping my dog and I felt very at ease with their care. Multiple team members all helped take care of my dog and every single one was calm, compassionate and professional. They helped with getting her out of the car and back and put us in a quiet room to the side after being seen almost immediately for initial check. Specifically, thank you to Dr Sekar, Bethany, and Stephanie who were our main points of contact. They explained the best course of treatment, the tests run, and always made it clear about the cost and reasoning of everything. Thank you for being open 24/7 for emergency pet care.

I wanted to thank the entire staff here, and Dr. Bergeron (I hope I’m spelling this right) for saving my cat, Nyx. When we brought her in, she was very weak, dehydrated, not moving, and not eating. We took her to her main vet the day prior and they said she was fine, but within 15 minutes Dr. Bergeron was able to diagnose Nyx with panleukopenia and her chances for survival didn’t look good. We decided to try to save her and within a day of IV fluids and medicine she was up purring, eating, and playing. Everyone here was very kind and there were a ton of people working around the clock. We suffered the unfortunate and abrupt loss of our cat, Beau. My husband rushed in the car to the closest facility and tried his best, but our sweet boy didn’t make it. The staff sprung to action in an attempt to perform cpr to no avail. My husband was alone, distraught. This happened so abruptly on a perfect day with our sweet man. This staff went above and beyond in care. Empathy and compassion oozed through every single interaction. We left with a coffin and staff helped walk my husband to the car. This event was a tragedy in our family, one that we were not prepared for. I couldn’t have hoped to drive to a better place. Thank you all, for your kind words and love given to our family.
