VCA Webb Animal Hospital

Very disappointed this morning. I had called last week to ask about a dog that had issues of excitement and being over-stimulated (especially in new places). I explained the back ground and that he had not been vetted. Keep in mind there were discussions on the phone with me doing my best to be up front before coming in for the appointment. This morning arriving for the appointment, the receptionist said they would take him for the drop off this time and that it would be $500., which I already expected. And then told me she still couldn't take him because my neighbor handed him over to me and they needed proof of ownership. We moved to the Springfield area 3 years ago and have been going to VCA consistently over this time. We originally had a cat and a dog. We recently got three more kittens and VCA has been great with them all. All the doctors and nurses really care and take the time with you and your pet. Staff has always been friendly to us and our animals. We lost a sun conure a few years back and VCA was very helpful with the cremation and even imprinted her wing. 🥹

I took my cat in for a first visit and everyone was so wonderful! The doctor was immediately able to pin point my cats problem and explained her treatment plan. Their fees were reasonable and the assistant went over the financial part before his treatment. It’s been 2 days since our visit and my cat is feeling so much better. Thank you so much! The Doctor and her support were excellent. My dog appears to be doing very well. The Doctor underestimated the charges by 700 dollars which put me in a bad financial spot. In my opinion, that is bad business. Good Doctor, but bad Business Person.

At first I thought they were pretty nice and caring but after today I'm pretty annoyed and no longer think that. I adopted a kitten which unfortunately has ringworm. I brought her in last week suspecting she had picked it up from the shelter or Petfix. I asked for an exam and to also check her ears out. I understand a PCR takes a few days but they already said it was ringworm after taking her to the back and they give me a toxic mousse (look at the reviews for the product MiconaHex+Triz you can get it over the counter and some cats have died from it. It's a good thing I research products before using it even if a vet gives it to me) for her ears instead of giving the oral medication which they want to charge way more than the prescription on chewy.
