VCA Tanglewood Animal Hospital

Its very hard to review accurately. I have been using Tanglewood for years and they have been wonderful. They have helped us through pets cancer, seizures and much more. They are compassionate and kind. I have never han any issues. That is why we stayed when they became VCA and through each price increase. Today however I had a disappointing experience scheduling 3 of my girls for treatments and testing. They were able to work with me before to help me get the care we needed but also help with the costs. I was told that couldn't happen and it would need to be approved by the doctor. I asked if we could ask the doctor and the scheduler said, well, the doctor will say no. She wasn't rude per se, but she was not helpful or empathetic. I’ve been a regular at VCA for quite a while. They have always met my expectations for excellent service, professionalism and loving care for my babies. They have always explained my dog’s treatment plans, presented options and been up front about costs. All of the vets and staff are wonderful. I appreciate so much their guidance and loving care. I recommend VCA Care Club which has been a real savings for exams, dentals, X-rays, shots and lab work.

Clean facility, great communication. The staff listen and ensure you're a part of your pet's care by making an estimate for services and allowing you the ability to choose what to do. They're a little higher on the price side of things ( corporate, right?) But they're worth it! Carol is a great hospital manager!

Dr. Travis is a very disorganized and unreliable vet, I would not recommend her for any serious, ongoing care. My dog was diagnosed with diabetes this year and the care has been all over the place from the beginning. I was told my dog would need a blood-sugar monitor, that had a 2-week span in which Dr. Travis would be monitoring daily. 1 week into the readings, I call with an issue regarding the monitor, and am told Dr. Travis is out of town and won’t be back for the next 8 days, and no one else had access to the monitor’s reporting. The helpful staff ended up being able to gain access to the reports, but I was left wondering why Dr. Travis would not suggest instead putting the monitor on when she returned, or at least grant access to another staff member before departing. This place is amazing! It is very clean, not a stressful environment for pets, just gave me a warm welcoming feeling and my baby felt that too. Dr. Robin took care of my pup with such care and the staff are just so wonderful and super friendly. If I ever need to take my pup in for a check up, this is where I will be going!
