On Saturday February 7, I noticed Mancha was not breathing well and brought her to Shorline to be seen. The staff immediately brought her to the back to be taken care of. The doctor came out very quickly after to let us know Mancha was not doing well and gave us our options. Being as she was a 17 year old cat with other health conditions, I didn’t want to continue letting her suffer. That was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make because that girl was such a beautiful, loving soul. I always joked about her being the house nurse because she always knew when someone wasn’t feeling well physically or emotionally and would lay with you until you were feeling better. I can’t say enough about how caring and supportive the staff is. One of the women offered to sit with me because my
Early morning on January 20th, my sweet girl Edith collapsed and had to be brought to the VCA Emergency Hospital in Shelton. I knew immediately that she was not doing well, and I was absolutely devastated. That day, I had to say goodbye to my two-year-old baby. Because I was frantic and heartbroken, I want to apologize for not remembering the names of the staff who helped us. Please know that this is not from lack of gratitude — it is because of how overwhelming that morning was. Every single person we encountered was wonderful. The doctor was excellent — compassionate, patient, and willing to answer all of my questions with honesty and care. The receptionist was kind and understanding. The young woman who explained the process to me when it was time to let my Edie go was incredibly gentle
I would like to extend my gratitude to the VCA staff for their kindness and compassion. My Lucky Love was apart of my family for 10 years and it was difficult to see him transition however I’m thankful for the help and assistance provided. It is appreciated and will be remembered.
I brought my 17 year old cat to be seen in the beginning of October for labored breathing. She was quickly taken in to be seen and evaluated. She was in heart failure but they gave me all options that were available for her. I opted to get her treated and she was released home with medication. Her condition deteriorated as days went on and I brought her back to the hospital last night. The staff once again were extremely compassionate and worked efficiently to evaluate her. While I knew her condition was not curable I was hopeful we would have some extra time with her. Every single person who I worked with both times I was at the hospital were all amazing. I was an utter wreck coming in with my cat and the compassion I was met with is something I cannot thank them enough for. I ended
I don't want to assume the practitioner was negligent because it may be a directive that is being followed. However, we were neglected in a room for over an hour and only received attention after bringing it to the attention of the staff at the front desk. After explaining the history of our pet we were given a $2700 quote to "shotgun" diagnose our pet with unnecessary procedures. We pushed back to take a phased approach to eliminate what we felt was the issue. After performing an x-ray, we were only partially confirmed that OUR diagnosis was correct. At that time, we were told that the practice was not equipped to further help us. At no point was this made clear to us until after we were charged $1100 and lost 5 hours of critical time in treating a LIFE THREATING situation for our dog. Th
