I can’t put into words how grateful I am for VCA Family & the care they gave my dog, Pickles. This was one of the most stressful and emotional experiences I’ve ever been through, and their team treated us with so much urgency, compassion, and respect. The moment we arrived, they radioed that we were there, and staff quickly came out and rushed Pickles straight to the back. Pickles had a mass that ruptured in his lower intestines. Bacterial fluids were contaminating his organs. A huge thank you to Dr. Sun and Dr. Lam for performing his emergency surgery. They were clear, honest, and supportive, and I felt like Pickles was truly in the best hands. Because they were so thorough, they even found something in his stomach during surgery and made the call to remove it—I’m incredibly thankful t
Front desk staff are some of the nicest ER receptionists I’ve ever met which makes a huge difference. The quality of medicine is evidently very good at this hospital. They took very good care of my kitty’s wound and it’s almost completely healed now. Prices are higher but it’s because you’re paying for very high level emergency care and they have to run a big hospital with very advanced equipment and pay their very well trained staff. The ER docs are very nice and worked with me on my goals for her care. Thanks for helping my kitty Dr. Steele and Dr. Goic 🩷
So glad I chose VCA family. I had a cat "emergency " at 10pm and didn't know what to do. I called the office and spoke to several employees, who were very helpful and informative when I was attempting to figure out what was wrong. I ended up bringing him in, and literally AS SOON as we walked in the door, an entire team took him back for stabilization. Within minutes. They were really busy, but they eval'd him immediately. Come to find out, he wasn't critically ill. We were in and out with medication in 90 minutes. The veterinarian (Dr Lam) as well as EVERY single tech and employee there was so nice! I ended up paying $350 for antibiotics, pain meds, fluids and the entire workup. I feel like that was super reasonable considering I went after hours to an emergency clinic. Super grateful
This late-night experience felt disingenuous, manipulative, and predatory. The way the veterinarian behaved was offensive, dismissive, and unnecessarily aggressive. The other staff there felt more genuine and kind, which was appreciated. I brought my dog to this emergency clinic during a genuinely frightening situation, expecting professionalism, clear communication, and basic respect. They were the only place open. Once he was assessed as stable, I clearly declined additional diagnostics, treatments, and imaging that would have doubled an already $600 bill. These add-ons were repeatedly described as “optional” and “just in case.” However, my informed refusal was repeatedly challenged, reflecting a disregard for patient consent and contradicting basic medical practitioner guidelines Wha
I brought my two newly adopted kittens to VCA Pearl City for their first appointment. The exam itself went fine, and worms were found in their stool, which required medication. That’s where everything fell apart. I received a long, confusing voicemail from the doctor explaining that one kitten needed one medication and the other needed two — but the explanation was extremely unclear and all over the place. The voicemail said to call back with questions, so I did. I still didn’t get clear answers, but I was told the medications would be ready for pickup. When I arrived after work, I was told only one medication was ready — for only one cat. I explained that both cats required treatment. I was sent downstairs to another receptionist and had to explain everything again. After reviewing the no
