Terrible experience, where do I start? Bad attitude at the front desk! I was completely ignored upon entry( I should’ve let then). If you are going to VCA because you’ve done so before just DONT. Let’s talk pricing. $121 for a wellness exam alone. I brought in a perfectly healthy dog and was charged $598 for wellness and vaccines! Customer service: You would think that in 2026, the year of AI, there would be a smoother transition of medical files between hospitals . They put a lot of responsibility on the customer - you have to have alll your medical records and judge you if you do not. they don’t even fill your prescriptions online they give you a physical. I have taken 2 cats to this clinic and both times have been very hard on the whole family. With one cat we were told she had severely increased intracranial pressure (icp). They wanted to do brain scans costing over 3000 dollars. I am in the medical field for humans. When I asked about Cushings triad in cats (a sign of icp in humans) the entire tone of the conversation changed and icp was off the table. The next time I went I brought in a kitten who had injested a plant and threw up about 6 times and could not keep down water. I was worried about dehydration. VCA told me that the kitten had a debilitating life threatening disease and wanted to run tests for 1000s of dollars. When I asked the staff why they think its an infection instead of just a bad reaction to a plant, they had no answer

I accompanied my mom to VCA in Glendale to put down her long time fur baby, Kirby. Kirby was 17 and was failing in his health. We pulled into the lot at VCA and a nurse came out to greet us, and brought us in through a side door and directly into a goodbye room. The room was beautiful and low lit, with candles, soft music playing, and Kirby's name on a whiteboard, with cute drawings around it. There was a table in the center stacked with mats and soft blankets, and there were treats nearby for him. The staff was incredibly patient and caring, compassionate and attentive. They offered us water for Kirby and for ourselves, and they allowed us all the time we needed with him. They walked us gently through the whole process and they answered all of our questions. The worst. Bad attitude at the front desk. Always trying to upsell you. I moved out of state, my new vet requested my dogs records 4 times and they never sent them. Stay away from this place.

I have mixed feelings about VCA after an encounter this afternoon. Previously, our puppy would attend VCA Gateway in Glendale and he is legitimately the happiest pup when he goes in to see the front desk and vets! They made him feel so comfortable, and I've never had a pet so happy to be at the vet before. Then, at the end of February we had an appointment for his final Leptospirosis vaccine and through context clues on what the front desk staff were speaking about, we found out that we were there on the very last day VCA Gateway would be open, and that my puppy's medical records would be transferred to Arden.
