VCA Amherst Animal Hospital

This was my first visit and with a new puppy. Everyone was so nice and didn't seem rushed. Best vet visit i have taken a pet too in a long time. Glad I gave them a try.

I was really looking forward to our first vet visit, but unfortunately, it was not the positive experience I hoped for. I brought in my new puppy, who came from a pet store, and instead of being supportive or understanding, the staff seemed judgmental about where he came from. The vet kept pointing out that he “lacked confidence” and that I needed to enroll him in puppy classes right away. While I understand that socialization is important, the way it was presented felt more like criticism than advice. I left feeling discouraged rather than reassured or guided. For a first-time visit with a young puppy, I expected a warmer, more encouraging approach. I want what’s best for my puppy, but I wish the staff had shown more empathy and offered constructive guidance instead of making me feel like

This is the best veterinary hospital that we have ever used, and our dog is 12- we have encountered a lot of vets. The first time we brought our dog in this past Monday, they treated us like family. Our dog can be quite difficult to handle but they bent over backwards to make him comfortable with them and won our hearts and loyalty in the process. Si ended up having to have major surgery and they took so much time with us explaining in detail what was wrong with him and caring for him like he was their own. Dr. Hope is amazing and Pam is truly a keeper. Rachael and Debra took such good care of us at the front desk as well as everyone else that works there. We are so thankful to have found them- I would give more than 5 stars if I could!

I absolutely LOVE this place!! The ladies at the front desk (Debra and Rachel) are so friendly and helpful, I'd go back just to talk to them! Dr. Hope and the assistants are also very kind and caring. When I had to put down my pug, "Borg," at 16 years old, I was completely inconsolable. We have no kids, Borg was our child, and the entire practice was there for me to give me hugs and let me cry on their shoulder. It was done in a very professional and loving manner. Thankfully, they also took care of his cremation for me, as I wasn't even able to think clearly!! HUGE THANK YOU for helping me get through that day!!!! Only 1 complaint - they have been short on staff for roughly a year or more now. I believe Dr. Hope is the only vet in the practice and they now have limited hours such
