My son has had so much fun this week! In a few short days he has learned so much and has enjoyed his time learning to care for dogs, basics of training dogs and lots of life skills that will never leave him. Ernie does an amazing job with teaching kids and the training dogs. You can really see his passion for helping people in the work he does! This place is amazing! I'm so happy I found this place. After my GSD unexpectedly passed away I found myself if a severe downward spiral after realizing how much a service animal really can do for people. After getting back into the VA Healthcare system my counselor recommended I get another service dog asap. They recommended a local trainer and we were able to foster a dog and at least fill the gap for the time being, it didn't take long for me to realize that a GSD is the only dog for me, after doing a search I came across a company in Geneva called K9 candidates -your service dog experts that ended up selling me a sick dog with no health certificate that racked up over $700 in vet bills immediately and didn't have the disposition to be a service animal, they ended up cutting off all communications so I found myself without a dog or my money.

Ernie and Shirley are very knowledgeable dog trainers and have treated us like family. We can't thank them enough for what they have done for my son and our family. If you need gentle, real dog training I can't recommend Valor training enough.

I recently hired Valor K9 Training because my 20 months old Maltese Shih Tzu started to act aggressively towards men. We have been working for a couple of weeks and I can already see the improvement. Valor K9 Training has excellent methods for training dogs. All methods are kind and humane. Ernie understands the language and needs of dogs. He is flexible about allowing the owners to decide for themselves which methods you are comfortable with. He is clear on what you need to practice and gives you homework. It's up to you to practice but I believe I am now communicating more 'clearly' to my dog. I highly recommend his services for happier dogs and humans.

We had an appointment to bring our two puppies in for an "evaluation" before their training was to start. We had confirmation of our meeting, text instruction on how to enter property, gate code to get in, directions on what to do once we got to the facility. We did exactly as instructed, and what we were met with is still beyond belief to us, complete chaos. The owner came out yelling and screaming, asking us "what the hell we thought we were doing there" and to get the hell off his property, he would not let us get a word in, screaming and ranting about getting off his property. We were completely stunned, now we realize what a complete blessing it was.
