Valor K9 Training

We sent our German Shepherd puppy, Kylo to Valor K9 Training for their 3 week board and train program, and we’re very happy with the results. Kylo came home with much better manners and overall calmness. He no longer tries to herd us, jump on the counters to steal food, and he’s much more manageable in the house. We’re still working on his social skills, but Valor gave us the tools and knowledge to continue that work at home. We’re staying consistent with what we were taught and it’s really helping Kylo continue to improve. We also really appreciate that even after training is complete, they offer ongoing support, including socialization time every Saturday at 2 PM. That extra follow-up means a lot to us.

Valor K9 is an amazing place with amazing people. When we started training, our youngest of three was fearful of people and was really struggling. Our middle dog was a runner who would bolt anytime a door was opened, and our oldest would get overly excited and jump on people when she saw people she loved. Now, all three of our dogs have earned their AKC Canine Good Citizen Basics certificates and they are so well behaved and friendly with people and dogs. Our lives are forever changed by Ernie and his team. Even one of their younger trainers (volunteer?) is fantastic and capable of not only handling but helping train our dogs. We are so incredibly thankful and can’t recommend them enough!

We adopted Jet in March 2021, and he couldn’t be around people. It changed our whole life; we couldn’t have people over to our house, we couldn’t go anywhere, even vet appointments were stressful! We went through 2 trainers before being referred to Valor K9 Training, and one of the trainers wouldn’t even get near Jet. We were at the point where we would have to try to re-home him, which didn’t seem possible, or we would have to put him down—which was unthinkable. Ernie and the team at Valor K-9 Training evaluated Jet several times to come up with a plan for addressing Jet’s reactivity. We were given tasks/homework to prepare him for a board and train. I love that the proceeds are donated to giving people service dogs. We brought our dogs here due to one being an instigator and I seriously would have gladly paid to have my dog boarded and trained if need be. Ernie spent an hour and a half with us and gave a lot of really useful advice, the biggest being to get them fixed. He said if there are still issues after that to give him a call. I find it very respectable that he didn't want to just take our money when there isn't that big of a problem. Ernie is super honest and awesome. We will probably bring one of our dogs here for socializing classes after getting her fixed.

We had both of our golden retrievers do the 2 weeks training with Ernie and team. We are absolutely amazed at their professionalism and how much they LOVE what they do. Our girls Lua and Amy came back home very well behaved and ready to meet their baby sister/brother in July. They listen exceptionally well to their basic commends, they are jumping less to not at all on those they love and strangers they meet. We will def continue to come back for additional training and boarding. Ernie and his team took great care of our girls when they were under his care. We are very grateful to have found them before we have our baby!!
