Trim and Proper Grooming Parlor

Trim and proper did an amazing job on my dog Rio! She has never looked so amazing after a grooming appointment. They were very easy to communicate with and got her in very quickly for a deluxe spa experience. They knew exactly how to groom an Australian Shepherd and that eased my mind as an Aussie’s fur is not meant to be cut except the butt (if desired) and around the paws because of their special double coat. I was able to trust them 100% with our girl! Can’t wait to come back!

My 8-month-old puppy Yorkie was recently “fired” by this groomer. His first trim was excellent, and while he was vocal, the staff handled him well. Unfortunately, his most recent visit was unacceptable. I was told he was “too vocal and stressed,” that he was urinating all over, and restraints had to be used to finish his trim. His anxiety was off the roof that he even required a veterinary follow-up afterwards, where, unlike at the salon, he showed no signs of stress in the environment or around the staff. Forcing a dog through that level of anxiety does more harm than good. I should have been called the moment he became uncomfortable, rather than having him pushed through the process. Now I’m left rebuilding positive crate training and managing the worst anxiety I’ve ever seen him in.

This was our first time coming to Trim and Proper and we will go no where else moving forward. We have been trying so many different groomers in the area and no one else compares. Janel was caring, thoughtful and accommodating to our little pup’s personality. The actual grooming was made with care and attention to detail. Janel even explained the various types of fur/hair textures in our pup to us at pick up. She took her time and got to know our pup and made her feel at ease. We will definitely return as it is clear that she cares and is extremely skilled. So satisfied! Love our new groomers and our pup got the cutest little flower adornment on her collar to make her feel oh so special!

We have taken our Aussie here since the start of 2022 and they always do an excellent job at a reasonable price. Our Aussie gets nervous around new people but they seem to handle her really well and they always tell us that she does a great job during the grooming. Would definitely recommend.

Long over due revoew: Mylo, my rat terrier. has been coming here for close to 8 years now. We get nail trims but have gotten a wash and some color. He isnt the easiest dog sometimes and can be nippy but they are amazing with him and patient, which I appreciate more than I can describe. Ive taken him to another groomer before more of a commercial animal store and though they did their best, comparatively i could tell the skill from Trim and Proper Is unmatched.
