The team here is incredible and your furry family member could not be in better hands. Dr. Scott Fetherston has been a colleague and trusted friend of mine for over a decade, his compassion, bedside manner and dedication to being the very best orthopedic surgeon he can be are unmatched. Without a doubt I know that all people he surrounds himself with are this same caliber. Not only will your pet get diagnosed appropriately but all your treatment options and the reasons behind them will be explained to you so you can make an informed decision. Dr. Fetherston truly cares about setting his clients and patients up for success in the post op period as well and makes sure you have all the tools and support you need for a successful healing journey. As a veterinary professional myself there is on
I can't recommend Dr. Fetherston and his wonderful staff highly enough. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! My husband and I are huge dog lovers and have had many of our dogs who have needed Dr. Fetherston's surgical services over the years. We have had ACL/PTLO repairs in our bird dogs (golden retrievers & wirehaired vizla's, as well as our english bulldogs and more recently our Bullador's (Bulldog/lab), all with 100% success rates. Our Bulldog/Bullador's are very active and love to run, swim, hike and jump. Great for their health and longevity, but not so great for their knees. However, all of our dogs lived long (15 + years), healthy and happy lives before and after their surgeries. We hope not to need Dr. Fetherston's services in the future, but if we do, his number will
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Russian River Veterinary Surgical Specialists and their incredible team. Our border collie puppy ended up needing not just one surgery, but two. What we thought would be a straightforward shoulder surgery turned into an emergency rock obstruction removal, and then we later returned for the shoulder procedure. Through both experiences, the care, professionalism, and compassion we received were outstanding. Dr. Fetherston and Dr. Helms were absolutely amazing. They took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all of our questions, and made sure we felt confident and comfortable with each step of the process. It’s never easy when your young dog needs surgery, but their expertise and kindness made a stressful situation so much easier. The
We recently went to RRVSS for a total hip replacement consultation! Our pup had just turned one and we were so nervous for such a big operation. Linda at the front desk put us right at ease and after meeting Dr. Fetherston and Dr Helms, we knew this was who we could trust to do it! We had the surgery and her recovery has been great! The staff has stayed in contact with us every step of the way and I heard from the vet himself almost every day as we navigated the first critical week of after care. I am so glad we found RRVSS and we would HIGHLY recommend them! I also love the work they do with all the local animal rescues, they are in this line of work for the love of animals! 🐾
Many years ago, Dr. Featherston performed a TPLO surgery on my golden retriever. This was a sporting dog used for Upland bird hunting and also my running partner during my years of long distance trail running. Scott studied under Doc Lewis, a locally famous country veterinarian who pioneered TPLO surgeries. My dog recovered amazingly well and went on to live the second half of her long life with full capabilities in the field. I’m sure that this technique has been even further refined over the years. Scott has continued to advance his skills by studying abroad and learning new techniques that arise in the veterinary world. Scott stays on the leading edge. I can’t speak highly enough of Dr. Featherston‘s skills as a vet surgeon.
