Thorpe Animal Hospital

We visited Thorpe Animal Hospital when we needed medical attention for our senior cat. Instead of being greeted with compassion and professionalism we were met with straight up verbal abuse and vulgar display of power. I mean this lady was fired up. She literally took one look at our cat of 20+ years and told us that we were abusing and neglecting it. That before performing the examination. Now, that is a bold statement seeing as the "vet" accidentally clipped a cyst off the side of our cat's face. When she noticed that she made it worse the room door was opened and went she on a tangent. She was essentially verbally abusing us in front of everyone. As if we were just reality entertainment for them. All the "vet" could focus on was euthanasia. For us, that option was not yet on the table.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. My Great Dane needed emergency surgery and the staff stayed 3 hours after close to do it because he wouldn’t make it through the night without it. They saved my dog’s life. The doctor called multiple times the next day to check in on how he was recovering, even with knowing that our pup was at a 24/7 vet for continued medical monitoring. Everyone was so kind and helpful. They do what they can to work with your budget AND accept ScratchPay. The best part… they don’t judge you when you are a crying mess!

I have a nervous nelly pup and when we moved one of my biggest worries was finding a vet that would work well and be patient with him. I am pleased to say Thorpe is that vet! I brought him in today and they were very patient and calm with him, he was nervous (as expected), but there were no interactions that might add to his anxiety. About a month ago I brought my kitty in and they also did amazing with her, very patient, talked softly, etc. She is much calmer at the vet, so while less worrying, it was still so nice to have everyone reducing the amount of stress that comes with going to the vet. I highly recommend this vet.

We had to take my lab to get put down and the vet and her assistant were phenomenal. They treated my dog with such amazing care and compassion and made the whole process so much easier on us. They truly seem to care about the animals here and I am so grateful for them. Would 100% recommend this place, they even did everything in the car so she got to lay in her bed with her blankets as she passed.

Dr. Pinkston is a fabulous vet. Very compassionate has a heart of gold for animals. He really listens. He has always done a great job with my fur babies.
