Thompson River Animal Care Shelter (TRACS)

Our newest addition, Marlo the 25 old week pup, is adapting well. He is exceptionally sweet 💙. We discovered that Marlo was originally found in Browning, MT, and was subsequently transferred to a shelter. From there, he was relocated to Thompson Falls, MT, where he was made available for adoption. As he settles in, Marlo is learning to overcome his initial fears and trust that he has found his permanent home, where he will be treated with kindness and respect. We look forward to sharing further updates as we continue to earn his trust. We are grateful to have welcomed him into our family. Thompson River Animal Care. I rescued a dog that was starving that had been running with another dog chasing our horses. I re-homed one and the one that was starving, outside all the time, I asked for owner to surrender. Tracs was wonderful, they did not have room for him, but posted on their website to find a home. He was adopted by some.wonderdul people. He is so healthy and treated like a part of the family. He got the golden ticket. I could not keep him as I had a dog and sick husband. These guys are wonderful, posting and adopting out. Thank you

Oh gosh, it’s already been two years since I adopted Pepper! How time flies when you’re having fun. She was called Trixie originally and came from a hoarding situation in Texas. Thompson River took in as many of those poor dogs as they could and I commend them for their efforts to help even the most frightened and hard-to-place dogs. Pepper acted like she’d either never interacted with people before, or interacted with the worst people imaginable. She was in a special room with some of her old housemates, and she hid in a corner and put her face to the wall. This animal rescue is wonderful! We drove two hours there to rescue our girl and we’re so glad we did! The communication was very easy and clear, from filling out the app online, to texting with them, to meeting them in person. They sent us home with a beautiful harness and leash and enough food for a week plus. It couldn’t have been a better experience! Anyone who left bad reviews should remember that this is a non-profit organization working tirelessly to help animals. It’s amazing. They take in animals from all over, including high capacity kill shelters in other states who are euthanizing daily for overcrowding. Our dog came from one in Texas.
