The Wayward Canine

Wayward canine was fantastic. Krysten was unbelievable with our husky and gave us great updates in the month long train and board. We have noticed a big difference in our dog. Josh was also great on our exit and showed us everything that our dog learned in the month. Highly recommend this place.

We did not travel as a family for over a year because our reactive dog Finn was unable to tolerate a kennel experience. He loved both the day camp and boarding. Thank you to Josh, Kristen, and all the staff for working with Finn, and opening doors for our family!

I am a dog trainer (went to and certified through a school) based out of ND. I took the opportunity to travel from ND to NH to learn from Josh and Alyssa through their mentorship program. It was hands down the best thing I’ve dog for myself and my dog. I have a Dutch herder who is known for being explosive and over the top. When he hit frustration he would turn to aggression and would handler redirect. He had live bites on him when we went to them and in general was fast to hit that frustration/red zone making him a very dangerous dog to work with. Josh and Alyssa took the time to understand him, past training, and our relationship. We worked with them in the beginning of February. Josh and Alyssa are amazing. My boy Bear needed a lot of help. We asked them to help us train Bear and rejoin our family of kids and be the loving sweet boy we know. He was with Wayward for 2 months. It was extremely hard for me to be away from him but I knew he was in great hands and I got pictures and video updates all the time. Bear came back calm and attentive. He’s come back into our lives the best way possible. None of this could be successful without Wayward Canine and their team of trainers. Our German Shepherd/Siberian Husky rescue, Atreus, has undergone such a positive transformation thanks to The Wayward Canine. A previous trainer helped him learn basic commands, manage some dog reactivity, and end his overstimulation biting. After completing our training sessions, I enrolled Atreus in their day camp.
