The Puppy Academy

For anyone thinking of paying $5k to have their dog trained...do not choose this place. My husband and I are glad we were warned before enrolling our puppy. There is a reason they rarely let pet owners inside. There are up to 30 dogs at a time, sometimes more and for most of the day they sit in crates. They take the dogs out for shorts amount of time for walks, and short bursts of training. If your dog is considered reactive they put it in the "zen room" which is actually a back closet where it's pitch black and where they store cleaning supplies. It's a small cramped space and they cover the dogs, presumably so they don't bark. That's what people are paying for. $5,000 to have your dog in a dark crate all day. Wonderful spot to set your puppy up for a solid training foundation. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable and they clearly communicate the progression of your puppy. They also provide a ton of instructional videos if you wish to do some independent studying, which I highly recommend. My puppy comes home very tired from a day at school!

Was looking forward to bringing my 8 month old pup here. One of my friends suggested for me to check this place out. It was a great experience for my friend so I thought I would give it a shot. I thought it’d be a perfect fit for my pup since he is super friendly and loves meeting new people and pets. And when I say pets, he loves rabbits, cats, and dogs. My pup has had many interactions with many animals. However, after my pups evaluation my pup was rejected. They said that they couldn’t take him in because he had signs of territorial/aggression in the crate.
