The Pet Department

I should’ve left this great review a long time ago. I’ve been coming here about six or five times a year for five years and they always have everything I need for my aquarium. I started out small and then worked my way up to 125 gallon aquarium and all the fish that I’ve bought here have grown to be wonderful fish. I couldn’t be happier and anything I need The owner is always able to either order it for me or direct me on where to go he always gives great advice.

I haven't been here in quite some time, but I just remembered some things I'd like to share, similar to other reviews here. If you're looking for ethical reptile habitats, or any good supplies for small pets(at good prices, too), here is not the place to go. Not only are their own reptiles being kept in dusty, small habitats, with the absolute wrong substrate... but the owner(at least when I used to go here) will proudly tell you the exact wrong information about anything you ask him. I once, when I was an amateur leopard gecko owner, asked him how to keep my gecko from going under her carpet substrate. He told me to just put some sand in there, and that its what he does for the leopard geckos being sold in store. Both of these were wrong. Carpet is bad for them, but sand is way worse. The

This may not have it all, but I would say it’s close to it. As a huge variety of dog food, cat food, etc. They have fish, reptiles and Lord knows what else. The store is packed full of inventory for just about everything you need to care for your Fur baby or snake. They have a groomer on site that rent space and they ate available to the public. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The prices are fair and no sticker shock. I don’t live in the area. I was just passing through, but if I’m ever in town and in need of any pet supply, I know where to go.

I grew up going here, and it's an amazing, locally owned business. It was always one of my favorite places to go as a kid. Definitely support them if you can.

This review is long overdue but we got our conure, Baby, from here and she’s the best. You could tell how well she had been taken care of at The Pet Department by how friendly and hand tamed she was. She instantly integrated into our family. We have 4 parrots from various places and circumstances but she’s my absolute favorite (don’t tell the others). Would recommend getting a bird from here as everyone on the staff is so friendly and knowledgeable.
