We got Maggie Mae a little over a year ago! Maggie had been with the shelter for about 8 months I think? But you could tell she was very well cared for in all that time! The shelter staff told me about all of their efforts to get maggie adopted since she was not a fan of men - apparently she had been adopted and returned twice! We had originally gone in to look at a different pup they had posted on their facebook page but Maggie jumped right into my husband’s arms! It was literally a hallmark movie moment 😂 After we adopted Maggie, the shelter gave us ALL of her stuffies she had accumulated while being there AND her little pool 🥰 They even checked in on Maggie for several months after we adopted her to make sure it was still a good fit. This shelter is amazing and so kind, patient, and helpful. I had a lot of cats on my hands that needed help getting rehomed, and Ashley at the shelter got back with me right away and was super supportive and helpful throughout the entire process. She was consistent and responsive, Ashley does her job flawlessly. I live near the shelter so luckily they were able to send some people over from the shelter to pickup the cats I needed homed, provided resources for me to get my cats I was keeping on how to get them fixed and vaccinated, and everyone from the team has been so kind. I have had the most amazing experience with The Colony Animal Shelter. We have adopted two pets from them over the years, a 10 year old sweet senior and an adorable guinea pig. The love and compassion the staff shows towards every animal that comes their way is so heart warming. The amount of support they pour into our community in keeping the animals safe is absolutely incredible. I wish that every city was lucky enough to have a shelter as wonderful as ours! Thank you for all you do for The Colony community and most importantly for all the fur babies.

I adopted this little guy about a month ago now and the shelter was amazing, they kept the area clean and organized and the cats had plenty of toys, food, and clean litter. Would recommend for anyone looking to adopt a cat or a dog! And the staff that helped us with adopting him were so nice and informative :)

TCAS is the absolute best dog/Cat/Animal shelter! Since Mark Cooper arrived (close to 10 years ago??), the shelter has made an amazing turn-around. Mark and the staff are incredibly compassionate and are truly animal lovers. Whether you are looking to adopt or volunteer at TCAS-you can’t go wrong! If you are just looking for an amazing shelter to support, they gladly accept donations on the cart out front of the office. They often have an Amazon Wishlist as well with current needs. We have adopted from this shelter, and donate often for the past 19 years we have lived in the area. My daughter was fortunate to intern at the shelter during her senior year of high school as part of her animal sciences curriculum and had a great experience. We are thankful to have TCAS, Mark and his staff
