Tehama County Animal Care Center

Adopted a sweet black kitty from this shelter. It is a very easy process. The staff person at the front desk directed me to the cat room, so I simply walked to that room and stepped inside. I’m an animal welfare professional so I was expecting a bit more interaction with staff, such as an interview, proof of ID, introduction to the animal, etc. Nevertheless, I did complete the adoption & would recommend this shelter. Although the staff seemed distant and not interested in engaging with me, I witnessed volunteers taking dogs out for walks which was heartwarming to see. The cats were all clean, with toys and beds, and I was given a complete medical history of the time my kitty had been there.

Our Girl Scout troop had a few adults and youth members volunteer Friday. Borden, Ronan, and Lycan were super sweet pups and great with the kids! You can go on the website to sign up to volunteer Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 11am you can pick up a dog and spend the day with them take them for a walk ect and just return them by 4pm. It really helps to get these animals out to get some exercise and 1 on 1 time. There are also foster options if your house is a right fit. Girls had a really good day loving on these pups

Officer Duncan came and took a stray dog from me . She made it so easy she came a few minutes after l called and was very pleasant to work with. And she was sympathetic to the dog we are hoping he finds his home OR a good home....thank you Officer Duncan 🙏

Great customer service, we love our new family member!

The doggy's and kitty's are so precious. Go get one or three. The facility was extremely clean but in much need of some TLC. Chipping your pet is low cost here, $15!
