Tampa Bay Raptor Rescue

This place just made my heart so happy! All of the birds were so well taken care of. It was great to see so many people so passionate about the life of each of these birds. Going here was free, so this far exceeded my expectations! All the birds had a good amount of space, well fed, and clean housing. The entire area was very peaceful. It felt like walking through wonderland. Butterflies fluttering around, little lizards poking about. And there’s a park there, which was an incredible bonus. We went into the nature center, and the girl that was working in there (I didn’t grab her name) was such a sweetheart. She was very engaged with my kids and seemed to genuinely enjoy what she was doing. And of course, my kids took a liking to her, so each of them gave her a hug when we left.

Went there expecting not too much. Was surprised how much was there. You got a butterfly garden and a nice lake. Shelters are around for picnics. You got turtles pond you can see. There are lots of nice trees to see. The resecued birds there can't be released. They are well taken care of. The volunteers take time to make sure they are. Saw lots of people walking and taking photos. I enjoyed the walk. It is a well-kept park. Education wise, you can get questions answered inside the center. A playground was there for kids also. Recommend donating when you go. Check it the park out for sure.

We got to see some beautiful birds of prey at the sanctuary. There is a small educational center, bathrooms, pond, playground, and picnic areas. It's free to explore, so don't forget to make a donation! 😊 No pets are allowed.

What an amazing place and amazing people. Barb is so dedicated and knowledgeable and caring. Her staff truly cares and the birds are so important to them all. They have intense knowledge of who the birds are, how to care for them, and most importantly how to make their lives special. As a non profit their level of dedication is truly remarkable. People that can help I implore you to do so as this is an establishment with creditable people doing work that is truly benefitting the world, the ecosystem, and the cycle of life. My wife, Diana McElroy is an Eagle advocate and a moderator on sites and cried when we left. She was touched with passion and dedication of Barb and her staff. Great place to visit and walk the trails and donate if you can as they deserve it.

What an incredible experience! All of these birds are rescues. I like that there was a description of each raptor. We learned a lot about wildlife and conservation efforts. The park is small, but well laid out. I also liked the butterfly garden and the turtle pond. There’s a meandering trail around it as well. These people do so much much and care for these raptors! And it’s free!
