Tail Waggin Ranch

I’m truly impressed with the positive changes the new manager has brought to Tail Wagging Ranch in Swansboro, NC over the past year and a half. Information, pricing, and policies are clearly posted and consistently followed, which I really appreciate. My dog, Koda, attends daycare about five days a week, and she absolutely loves it. The entire team genuinely cares for her, and it’s obvious she’s happy, safe, and well cared for every day. For safety reasons, only flat collars with name tags are allowed in the play areas. Koda’s prong and training collars are not permitted past the front desk, which helps protect both her and the other dogs. Worst place ever to take your dog for boarding. They told me to leave my dogs training collar on when I left him there. I came back 5 days later and his neck was torn up with deep cuts. They didn’t even mention the cuts when I got him and I had to take him straight to the vet for antibiotics. They said they left the dog collar on his neck and never took it off when they put him in a kennel. They never called us letting us know he had cuts or anxiety. We left a local emergency contact for him to get picked up just in case they had issues with him. We’ve reached out to the management but haven’t received a call from them yet.

This has been our schnauzers boarding place since she was born. Our schnauzer passed away and when I had to call them to cancel my boarding they were heartbroken when I told them what happened. The staff is truly class act even when they had to take her to emergency surgery for us while we were in Vegas two years ago. If we ever get another dog we will bring them here.

So we just used this place for boarding for the second time. First time we didn’t have any issues. This time we asked for our puppy to be bathed, nails done, etc. while she stayed over. When I picked her up today 10/22/22, the girl asked if was just the boarding and I explained she was supposed be bathed. I was told a simple, “Sorry we didn’t bathe her.” That’s was it…once I got home I noticed an odor of urine my wife immediately smelled it as well and also noticed that her paws were red. We called our regular groomer (who had Tail Waggin Ranch and others on a list of preferred boarding options) and she was able to get us in right away. She explained that the redness was most likely from her sitting/laying in urine for an extended period of time. When we went to pick her up she explained

My GSP Maggie May has been coming to Tail Waggin Ranch for daycare several days a week for a couple years and has been boarded here a few times. She absolutely LOVES to come here. My favorite part is that they have cameras in the play areas so you can check in on your pup throughout the day. I can tell that all the staff genuinely love their jobs and the dogs they take care of. I never worry about her when I drop her off in the hands of the employees of Tail Waggin Ranch!
