Customer Reviews
My husband and I could not be happier with our experiences at Swansboro Animal Hospital. We have two puppies, and every single visit has been met with the warmest welcomes, excellent care, and the best customer service. The doctors and staff treat our dogs as if they were their own—giving them love, attention, and keeping us updated multiple times throughout the day and evening. Some reviews mention pricing, but the reality is that’s a part of going to any emergency hospital. Unfortunately, that is a risk you're going to run into as a pet owner. We’ve chosen to protect ourselves with pet insurance (file later after payments are rendered), and I highly recommend others do the same. For us, the quality of care has always been worth every penny. Our golden doodle, Kona, has been a frequent
Our sweet Zöe was having an emergency & the staff provided excellent care. Everyone on staff was excellent. The veterinarian keep us updated and offered advice and a referral to get her the best care, after discharge. The kindness and compassion for our pets & family always goes above and beyond. If your pet has an emergency, this is the place to go.
On September 18th, our dog Rocky showed signs of GDV (bloat), and we immediately rushed him to Swansboro Animal Hospital. Within minutes of arriving, they performed x-rays and confirmed that he needed emergency surgery. We were told that if we had waited any longer, he likely would not have survived. Rocky wasn’t out of the woods yet—he still had to make it through surgery and recovery. But thanks to the incredible staff, he did. Everyone there was absolutely amazing. They kept us informed every step of the way and treated Rocky with such care and compassion. After the successful surgery, we were even able to visit him just a few hours later. The team took the time to clearly explain his recovery process, and Rocky did so well that he was able to come home the very next day. We are beyond
I am so thankful to the staff of Swansboro Animal Hospital for always being there for my family. This is the second time I have had to take my Elsie Mae in for an injury (I really don’t know how she does it, *insert eye roll*) and they have taken care of her so well. The first time the team met Elsie was a bit dramatic, as Elsie had completely severed an artery. They worked fast, saved her life, and her foot has healed perfectly. This recent visit was much less dramatic, as in not immediately life threatening, but still scary with a 4-5 inch gash (I mean seriously, I don’t know how she manages to keep injuring herself like this). They assured my son and I of how spoiled Elsie was under their care, kept her overnight, and then returned her to us in the morning all patched up. Hopefully this
Very glad we chose to come to this ER vet when we needed one! We have had some negative experiences at another ER vet near us, and I have to say that this ER is great, I’d highly recommend coming here if your pet’s situation allows for the travel. Dr. Tonkin is amazing and answered any and all questions I had when I was scared for my baby, Buddy. I appreciated her knowledge so much, I have nothing but great things to say about her! They even accommodated him (he’s a cat that has very high anxiety/stress), allowing him to stay in a separate room by himself. I’m very thankful they were able to do that for him during his stay, as I know it made his stay much less stressful and a lot easier. I trusted the doctors and techs/nurses with him. Ms. Jennifer at the front desk is also very kind and s
