I brought my 11-year-old cat here for a routine check before adopting a second cat. Instead of a simple visit, it became one of the most stressful veterinary experiences I have had. I told the clinic ahead of time that Kitty becomes anxious during exams and had previously been prescribed anti-anxiety medication. They acknowledged this and said they could have her medication ready if her old records arrived. They knew she needed gentle and slow handling. At the start, I lifted Kitty out of her carrier myself with no issue. Later, when the exam restarted, the vet tech tried to take her out without checking the full side-zip opening on my brand-new carrier. She lifted from the top instead, Kitty reacted, and she fell onto her back with her tail bent underneath her. I pointed it out immediat

We’ve been with Staples Mill Animal Hospital for about six months, and overall the staff is very sweet and hard-working. They always greet our puppy by name and seem to genuinely remember him, which we really appreciate. The team is friendly, clearly loves animals, and always stops to say hello when they see him. However, we’ve had a couple of issues recently that have been harder to overlook. 1. Post-surgery follow up: Our puppy was neutered here two weeks ago and afterwards we noticed some issues—possible UTI signs (frequent urination, accidents in his crate, crying when he needed to go), and what seemed like neck discomfort. We were told to email with any concerns and did so early Monday morning, assuming it would be seen when they opened. Someone called at 10am asking for videos, but

Suzanne, the vet technician at this office is wonderful. She clearly explained everything we needed to do after our dog’s first dental cleaning and tooth extraction on 9-2-25, and expertly answered all of our questions. She is kind, relatable, and competent. We have been taking our dog to this veterinarian’s office for 8 years, and they are beginning to feel like “family” due to the way they treat our pup and how they interact with us! From the front desk personnel to the techs and the veterinarians, this is a top notch operation. We are very grateful for Dr. Shane and her practice full of wonderful, hard-working staff. Keep up the great work, and thank you for all that you do to keep our little one safe, healthy, and happy!

We had a great experience today. Julianne was our vet tech and handled my anxious cat so well. Dr. Fennig was wonderful, gave me the information I needed, and was great keeping my baby calm. Highly recommend and look forward to visiting again. Love their policy of having you wait in the car until they are ready for you. Definitely less stressful for my boy as well.

First time visiting Staples Mill with 2 of my 3 kitties. Staff were super friendly and very attentive to my questions/ listening to what I had to say. I really loved the fact that I was in a smaller exam room that was just for kitties. My cats were both very comfortable and had great visits. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a veterinary office.
