We went into our experience here with no prior knowledge of some peoples feelings regarding this place. The gentleman at the front greeted us warmly two days in a row and was so pleasant with us while adopting our newest member of the family. Everyone there was nice and the dogs albiet barking and loud, appeared to be healthy and well taken care of by the volunteers there. The volunteers were also so helpful and answered any of our questions we had regarding the dogs. Would adopt there again! Follow along our adventures on IG: Chasing_Elsewhere :)

We got our beautiful boy from there. He is now in training as a service dog. Couldn't have found a better boy for the job. He has been amazing from the day we met him.

Got our dogs tags through them went back in a year as I could not get ahold of them. They still have the wrong address. Even though they upfront looked at my DL an such. Every time I have been in there they have been rude an the attitude I get is I don't have time for you. I called about a lost dog an they told me they have no room so I called a rescue the person that came said he volunteers there an he has seen them take dogs back right away with no check ups an the dogs are never seen again I could not believe it but he said I'm glad they did not want to come get the dog they are a kill shelter an they do not treat the animals right. Sadly scraps is not what it says it is I hope someone can go in an take it over an fix this broken place.

I contacted Scraps today 11-03-25 concerning a stray dog that came in our business on Francise Ave just off Division a very busy traffic area. I was on hold for over 15 minutes on their emergency number. After I was able to speak to a representative I was informed that SCRAPS didn’t have any room. I reassured that I was a business and could not keep the dog. The representative apologized and again stated that they were at capacity. I said my only option would be to turn the dog loose and have it hit by a car. The representative informed me that she could not advise me what to do. I hung up and thought about the situation. I don't normally post reviews, but I needed to just say that the love and care that went into my experience of adopting a dog was far more than I could've asked for. I originally found a dog on their website and came to the location ready to adopt, but after a brief conversation, and interaction with the dog in the gated area in the back. It was quickly determined that the dog wasn't the right fit for my environment. I had kids and cats, and depsite the blow to being informed that they didnt suggest I adopt that dog, it became apparent when we walked the dog next to the designated cat area. However, instead of calling it quits, they worked with me and presented a multitude of other dogs that they felt would work for where I was at in my life.
