Southwest Florida K9 Services has been an incredible place for our Malinois over the past year. We started with Dee and Sue, then moved into Rusty’s class, and now also train one‑on‑one with Rusty and will soon begin tracking. The progress has been remarkable. Our dog came in as a very reactive, strong‑willed teenage Mal, and with their guidance he has grown into a sweet, obedient, and confident partner. We’ve also boarded with them several times, and he absolutely loves being there — he runs in happy every time. The entire team is knowledgeable, patient, and truly invested in the dogs they work with. We couldn’t recommend them more highly.

We had an outstanding training session with Dee today. Our dog is a rescue and has always been highly reactive, which make daily walks incredibly stressful. In just one session, Dee taught us simple, effective commands that completely changed how we handle his reactive behavior. The difference in our dog’s behavior was noticeable right away. Dee and Rusty bring decades of experience to the table, and it truly shows in their calm, confident approach. They understood our dog’s challenges instantly and gave us tools we could use the same day. We’re genuinely grateful for the progress we’ve already seen and highly recommend them to anyone struggling with a reactive dog.

The best trainers in Florida!! Rusty, Dee and Sue have so much experience and knowledge of all aspects of dog training, health and how to help you with your specific needs. The classes are fun, yet structured and you and your dog will learn a lot. The trainers are great about checking in with you to see how you and your dog are progressing. Other owners will also help you to provide suggestions and support. Some students have been coming for years and it makes it like a family who all support your journey with your dog. Before we got our new pup, Daisy, we had decided we would do as much training with her as I could. Knowing I had a lot to learn before I could train her, I went in with the idea that dog training is for me to learn how to train my dog, not for them to train my dog for me. We were luckily enough to be recommended to southwest Florida K9 services. For the last year I have been regularly attending Saturday classes with Daisy. The trainers are all knowledgeable and have helped me to train Daisy to the point where she is now my service dog!! This is big for me as I didn’t think that was a possibility. My dog, Echo, is a walking testimony of the incredible work that Dee & Rusty put into the dogs they train. We are thrilled with the improvement we have seen in our very reactive dog.
