Southern Oaks Animal Hospital

I own rottweilers and most people are afraid of them because of their size. We have been going to Southern Oaks for more than 25 years. Some of the techs seem a little nervous around my dogs which my dogs can sense. Mikayla, Donovan, and Zach are great with them. We thought about changing to a different facility because the care wasn't the same and some of the techs and one of the doctors seem to be afraid of my pets. This cause my dogs to shy away from them and react sometimes in a negative way. I've noticed stars beside my pets names, I guess to identify that they are aggressive. That's the furthest thing from the truth. My dogs react according to how they are treated. I love to see Mikayla, Donovan, and Zach come out when we visit because I know my dogs are in great hands. Outstanding on everything Sanford vet quoted $864 per dog to pull one tooth each and clean. They did both dog's 14 and 19 teeth pulled. $804 both dog's and cleaning and med's My dog Bear all Animal hospital Sanford quoted $5000 plus to remove spit on back thru did it for $356 excellent vet honest.

We took our Rottweiler, Brutus in for a heartworm test today. Dana and Mikayla were great with him. They came out and interacted with him to make him comfortable. They showed little or no fear with him. These 2 young ladies are awesome. Keep up the great work. We, as customers greatly appreciate you.

I just want to say that I appreciate Dr. Dean and the staff at Southern Oaks for saving my baby! We literally thought my baby was gone when we brought him in for an emergency visit, he came in on a stretcher and walked out ready to come home to his family! The instant sigh of relief was overwhelming because he is not only our dog he is a member of the family, so to hear Dr. Dean say he has more life to live was something we could not be more thankful for! I have to leave a review since this is the third time using this office and the same thing seems to go on. I love the ear crop the vet does here. He or she does an amazing job. BUT the front desk people love to tell me I’m at the wrong check in desk, then love to act like I’m there at the wrong day and time. I travel an hour and a half to get there. It’s the correct day and time and they seem to realize it once going back and forth with different desk check ins and ugly looks you aren’t sure what they mean. It becomes stressful which doesn’t help out pets feeling safe and secure. The rudeness and staring at a customer instead of speaking the words “how can I help you” is unbelievable when it’s happening. But that’s not my main problem still.
