Dr. Gillespie and his team have been absolutely amazing Have three dogs and South Trail has been amazing with all three breeds. From the moment we walk in, we are greeted by friendly staff. The doctors and tax are incredibly knowledgeable And make our visits seamless. We have recently started to use their boarding services as well, and that has gone great! Anyone in the south Fort Myers area looking for a great veterinarian clinic should check out South Trail.

In late March, I contacted this clinic by phone and in person seeking help for my 6-year-old dog, Gunner. He had been examined there just two months earlier, in January 2025. Gunner was in severe pain, later diagnosed as a spinal infection. He weighed nearly 100 pounds, and any attempt to lift him caused intense distress—he cried out and bit me several times. I asked the clinic for a small amount of medication to safely transport him or a house call. At first, they said a home visit could be arranged for $200. I agreed immediately. Moments later, they reversed course and said I’d have to bring him in myself. I found another vet willing to come to my home. Gunner passed away on May 5. I’m not blaming this clinic for his death. Extremely over priced and all the care about is the money. For instance, for saving money I like to order off chewy. They don’t do that and they also charge you 5 dollars for prescription if you want to take it to a pharmacy to save money. THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY! The vets really don’t know what they are talking about, they like to throw out cancer every 5 seconds if you bring in an older dog with any issue. Happened to me several times with issues that were actually minor. One of the vets even cut into a tumor on my dog thinking it was an impacted anal gland and aggravated it and it rapidly grew after that. One of the male vets gave me paper work for a behaviorists without me asking for my poor dog that’s mortified of the vet. DONT GO HERE!!!!

New to South Trail animal hospital. Very good staff. Dr. Cooke helped my Lola with stomach issues. Although it cost $700!! Labs were done and read immediately and she’s eating again and almost back to herself.

Last Friday evening I said goodbye to my best friend- my dog Beefy. I put him down after another cancer returned and it has been very hard for me and my family. Dr. Noah was so kind and helped me in saying goodbye. He made the experience as comfortable as possible and was so patient. Dr. Ford helped me make the decision and provided a lot of support to me and my dog. About a week after I said goodbye, I received a hand-written note from the doctors. The staff and doctors are wonderful and I will be forever grateful. I love and miss you, Beefy.
