SOS Animal Shelter

An amazing shelter doing AMAZING work! They are constantly doing something to engage with the community and find their animals loving homes- news segments, dog washes, pictures with Santa, raffles, balls, you name it. They TRULY care about their dogs and cats, and it shows. They don't get the funding that humane societies and the like get; they run solely off of donations/ fundraisers and are good stewards of that money. The dogs and cats in thier care are loved and given every opportunity to find a forever home! (If you are concerned about some of the negative reviews, read them yourself. They highlight how ignorant some people are about how shelters work, like complaining about not knowing the breed of dog or expecting a cat to be on hold for them for 2 months.)

This is by far the best animal shelter ive ever been too. The cats get 3 rooms room a and b are inside and the other room is outside and connects the 2 so the cats can sunbathe, relax, and enjoy the scenery as well as play with their plentiful selection of toys. They have high spaces in room a and b to lay on with blankets for cushion and they always have food and water. My favorite cat there is Sunny, hes an utter sweetheart. The dogs there are outside but have dog houses to sleep in and are always watered and fed and super excited to see you and the people that work there. The workers are really nice, polite, and tell you about the place when you walk in. It is always well kept and smells good. I got my baby Engelbert Humperdinck there a year ago at six weeks old. He has definitely been a typical kitten. We attended the dog wash on Saturday. The pups are all sneaky clean (until they roll in something smelly). Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Definitely hard workers and underappreciated.

We adore our newest additions. Super simple and quick process to adopt them and they came with detailed vetting information and charting.

I'm confused on how people are adopting here. We have been here 5 times in the past 1.5 months to adopt a pet. Since there is no phone number, I have to drive here and stand around to get a question answered. I filled out an application my first visit. Was told by the workers they will put the cat on hold until i can get her (note: THEY suggested, not me) I come in a week later and she is no longer on hold and has not been tested with dogs like I had asked. Although they said manager DID look at the application and it looked good. I tell them we will be back in a couple of weeks once we have what we need for her. Plus, the cat was visibly sick and I am not going to adopt a sick cat. 2 weeks later I go in 3 times. First time I am told that the manager needs to be there to approve the adopti
