Customer Reviews
We found second chance rescue through a friend, after our 10 year old puggy got attacked by 2 dogs and needed surgery we didn’t know where to go because we went to 2 clinics prior and they couldn’t do the surgery, the surgery he required was more than we could afford with a specialist and it was either that or amputation. After I sent the email to second chance rescue they replied to me right away eager to help. We were sent for X-rays the very next day and after that for his actual surgery. My boy finally got his surgery done and won’t need amputation thanks to second chance. They helped us with our puggy Communication was incredible, they really care about all pets and I will donate here for as long as I can and tell everyone about second chance. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Awesome cat adoption x 2! Lisa and volunteers were so lovely to work with from the start. In 2024, after applying to multiple rescues, Second Chance got right back to our family and set up a time to meet cats. We took our beloved 2 year old kitty home that day and just adopted another 3 year old cat in September. As a busy shelter, they do their best to get medical records and be responsive. The shelter itself had plenty of food, litter, and toys with new kittens or sick cats separate. Thank you so much!!
The most amazing rescue I have ever seen or dealt with. Very clean amazing space with man6 rooms. Staff is doing good and caring. They have helped me to save and get adopted so many homeless cats from the streets of Queens. Higethamk you to Lisa who runs this place with the biggest heart and patience to help me to save so many homeless cats.
In August my family visited and fell in love with a sweet little kitty. Everyone I met was so knowledgeable about the cats in their care and very friendly and encouraging. The cats all had what they needed, from climbing toys to cozy hiding spots, and while it was clear they all felt safe and happy, I was thrilled to be able to take our little guy home to meet his big sister.
I fostered with nyc second chance and ended up adopting our dream dog - spurge. He has the cutest pittie face and gsp body and spots. I fostered another pitbull and he really was the sweetest and was adopted to a very loving home. The rescue is volunteer run and staff work insanely hard and are dedicated to the animals. They’re also very easy to work with. We’re lucky to have found this rescue because spurge means everything to us.
