Wonderful, 100% volunteer-operated organization with such caring dedicated caregivers helping our kitty friends in need. Fun events, book sales, and of course a great place to adopt your next fuzzy family member. I enjoy visiting during the open hours and volunteering myself when I can. There are many ways to help or get involved including bringing your used cans and bottles here as the funds from the returns go toward food and supplies!

One of the best shelters in West MI. Not only do they heavily vet every adopter, but they take they most amazing care of every single baby there ❤️

A few years ago I volunteered and fostered for this rescue. They were always clean and went out of their way to be helpful. Though Laura lied: she said Coby would likely never be very affectionate and would be a stereotypical cat. He has turned out to be one of the most obnoxious affectionate creatures I’ve ever had, even giving me wet Willie’s with his nose just to get touched while I try to sleep in.

Never have had such a wonderful experience at a shelter. You can tell they are definitely are all about making sure the cats get the best possible placement possible. With that being said they also strive for the best customer service. Laura the co-founder was working when I came in with my daughter a half hour before closing and we found the perfect kitten but I wanted my husband to come see her before making the final decision and she stayed a couple minutes after closing for that to happen. Then after filling out the application on a Saturday, the adoption coordinator Marj was was very fast in processing and very responsive to any questions that I had. I would definitely suggest this shelter for anyone looking for a cat. Could not be happier.

We adopted our youngest cat Alfie through Second Chance Cats. He had been trapped for TNR but found to have a birth defect of one of his front legs. They cared to have the leg evaluated and ultimately removed, had a foster socialize him, and we now have the happiest tripod! Thank you for having a thorough adoption process to be sure each cat has the best second chance possible!
