Safe Place for Pets

We adopted a sweet senior cat from this shelter. We live in Salida which is outside of their typical zone, but they did everything they could to make this adoption possible. The organization has a very thorough adoption process, making sure each animal is brought into a good and safe home. The biggest bonus of this shelter is that it gives some supplies along with an adoption, we got food, toys, cat beds, and litter to help with the transition to our home. This is a great place to adopt from and to trust your pets to.

This is our sweet Lark that we adopted a year ago. She is so much fun and company for us during the pandemic. We appreciate Safe Place and Happy Cats Haven for all they do to give pets a second chance.

Safe Place was originally going to take my ailing mother's beloved dog. I had a couple of long conversations with Carole as well as emails with Brian. Both went above and beyond in helping me understand the process of surrendering a pet and assuring me that my mother's dog would receive a loving home. I was very impressed with how caring and supporting they were. A family friend ended up adopting my mom's pup, but I would not hesitate to recommend Safe Place should you be looking for a pet or needing placement for a sick loved ones pet.

Due to remodeling of their existing facility Safe Place moved to Rockrimmon. They are totally committed to caring for the beloved pets of terminally ill owners. With a tiny budget and big hearts Safe Place does so much good for so many. My sister has a cat named Riley from Safe Place: he is totally happy, loved and in his forever home thanks to SAFE PLACE for PETS!
