Spencer at Oh My Dog Training is wonderful to work with, for both the human and dog experience! I needed a dog eval for a legal case, and Spencer was very professional, practical, and a great communicator. He 'reads' dog behavior very accurately. He also was encouraging to me as a dog owner. Overall, I'd highly recommend Spencer for any legal assessments or behavior concerns with your dog.
I cannot say enough good things about Spencer and OhMyDog Training. I have been working with him for a few months now (there’s faster training plans, this pace just fits my schedule better) with my reactive dog. We have made tremendous progress! When we started, she would absolutely lose her mind in the presence of another dog. But now, we can be in the same room as new dogs or pass one on the street and my dog can keep her composure, even if the other dog is barking at us. It’s amazing how we’ve been able to reshape her reactivity, change the way she feels, and give her an outlet for her energy. Spencer has also helped us with basic obedience at home. It’s kept me as the decision maker in the house and has helped my dog learn and respect boundaries, which has really elevated our relatio
Spencer visited my home to do an evaluation of my dog, Sherlock, who is 6 1/2 years old. Sherlock, when he is inside our house, is quite reactive to dogs walking on our street, joggers, and deer. Spencer felt like he would be able to work with Sherlock to reduce or eliminate his reactive/aggressive responses, so I am going to enroll him in one of Spencer's classes after March 2026. I've been through several different dog training classes, and I like Spencer's philosophy about dog behaviour. I look forward to having a dog that doesn't need to shake the rafters anytime someone or something is outside our door! I'll update his behaviour after his training!
Spencer is exactly what we needed for our reactive dog! We’d tried other trainers and methods around town, but no one offered the same personalization of training method that our ACD needs. With just over a month of training, our dog can do things that we never thought would be in the picture. We were so nervous about having visitors in our house for multiple days, and Spencer worked extra sessions with us to make sure we were ready—and we had 0 issues!! Spencer is also super patient with us as owners. He takes the time to make sure we actually understand concepts, rather than just trusting that we’ve absorbed information. I had never seen someone use play as reward (which is what we needed for our non-food-motivated dog), and it’s worked better than anything else we tried. We’ll continu
I reached out to Spencer to help my 3-year-old lab, Opal, with some pretty intense leash reactivity—she used to completely lose it any time she saw another dog, no matter how far away. In just five sessions, the change has been amazing. She can now calmly walk past other dogs, even at the dog park, without barking or reacting. Spencer doesn’t just train your dog, he teaches you how to train your dog and makes sure the lessons are sustainable. From the first session, he made things super clear and used real-life examples (including his own dog, Mochi) to show what different behaviors should look like. He also gave me helpful resources after each session so I could see more examples and keep learning on my own. He showed me how to incorporate basic obedience that Opal knew and comprehended
