Rock Island County Animal Control

I've adopted multiple animals from this shelter who have all been amazing. The staff has always been helpful, even when I took in a cat that I found running around the neighborhood. Working at a shelter is not an easy job, so I certainly understand they probably have their moments just like everyone else. I love that they allow animals to stay so long and do their best to get every animal adopted when possible. The two I adopted most recently were both there over a year. They are always posting their animals and educating and encouraging people to adopt. Thank you for the work you do! -Aaralyn, FloatQC

Love this place. You can tell they're true animal lovers. 1-4pm Tuesdays is the low cost clinic hours for vaccines and registration.

Be careful, their posted hours are not true. They will not post proper hours and then give you a disgusted look as they tell you to leave. Was there just after 10 just to look at the animals they have and as you walk into their remodeled lobby, it feels like you are heading into a prison. Then you are greeted with a "what do you want" kind of attitude. Not a great experience and definitely made my two little girls sad with the way it was handled by the staff.

We decided it was time to adopt a cat and discovered this place on KWQC news one morning. When we arrived there the staff allowed you to look and visit with the animals in different rooms and take your time to find the right one for you very easy and all animals have there first shots already so in the end we found two of the greats cats ever so thank you.

My wife and I just moved to the area and we're looking for a new young cat to add to the family. We couldn't have found a better kitten and a better place to help assist us in giving him a new home. They were very accommodating even with it being the end of their business day and were very fast in getting the paperwork set up and transfered We definitely recommend this place.
