Rising Starr Horse Rescue

This is such a special place and I feel so grateful to have it in my community. My son became obsessed with horses around 14 months old. I reached out to several local barns to see if we could visit regularly and was turned away or asked to pay lesson fees to feed and brush a horse. I couldn’t continue paying $80 for 30 minutes of joy for my toddler. I finally found Kelley at Rising Starr, who welcomed us. After a wonderful tour by her junior board members, we were free to visit whenever we wanted. My son is now 22 months and we go every Sunday morning to visit his horse friends (“See Simba? See Simba?”). Every horse he sees in a book is “Simba” and Old McDonald Had a Farm is accompanied by delighted questions about Army, “Nali”, and Simba. Amazing program. Rescuing from kill pens and re-housing these amazing animals. This program gives so much to both the horse and the volunteers.

My niece Leah is a volunteer there we just came from Miami and we had stopped by to see the place is amazing how many horses they have! The place looks amazing and well maintained!
