I must share our adoption story. We journey from Virginia Beach to Richmond to meet the most adorable puppy named Atlas. From the start, Jo-Ann — who’s been volunteering there for several years — introduced us to Atlas and told us about his shy, nervous personality. She was so kind, patient, and easy to talk to. She answered all our questions and even shared stories about her own rescue pets, which really made us feel at ease. We then met who Clare helped us with the adoption paperwork and gave great advice on how to make Atlas feel comfortable and loved once we got him home. She also took time to answer questions and give solid advice. You could tell everyone there truly cares about the animals and the families adopting them. We adopted our sweet Birdie (previously Vampira) from Richmond Animal League this past Friday, and we couldn’t be more grateful. From the moment we met her, she quite literally flew right to us! Chirping, affectionate, and full of personality. The adoption process was wonderful from start to finish. Everyone we spoke with was kind, answered all of our questions, and is clearly invested in finding the right match for each animal. They gave us space to meet Birdie at our own pace and made sure we felt supported every step of the way. The paperwork was extremely thorough and they took their time even though it was minutes until “closing”. After losing our beloved cat Roman, the house felt too quiet , and Birdie has already brought warmth, joy, and a sense of home back into our days. Thank y

You will not regret going to Operation Silent Night. The staff were kind and patient, and I never felt rushed or pressured while looking for my new best friend. I was given thorough explanations on our cat’s medical history, how much to feed her, what was included with the adoption fee, etc. I went in concerned about the paperwork/application, but it was actually very simple. They want to know how you will go about raising your pet, not your income or employer.

We adopted our dog from Richmond Animal League, and the entire experience has been absolutely wonderful from start to finish. When we began looking for a dog, we spent time reading the bios on their website to find one that would be the right fit for our family. I knew I didn’t want a puppy—kudos to everyone who raises them, but I was hoping for a calmer, older dog so we could focus less on training and more on bonding and building a routine. Based on the bios, we were drawn to Darla (AKA Twinkie), and after a meet-and-greet with her foster, we knew she was the one. The foster was fantastic (look her up on insta: @doggyadventureswithraven). She patiently answered all my questions and gave me a very accurate description of Darla’s personality, which made the decision easy. We adopted her,

I can’t say enough great things. Every mine was super friendly and helpful. It was clear they truly care. The facility was clean and well kept. This is the second time we’ve adopted from RAL. And we are already thinking our new friend might need a new friend soon.
