I’m excited to write this review because I have so many great things to share about my experience adopting at the Georgetown animal shelter. I adopted Malachi almost a month ago, this was a decision I didn’t make lightly. I lost my baby boy 3 months ago, I had him for 22 years so this was a huge loss for me. After I lost him the house was too quiet and I spiraled into depression. My journey took me to 4 different animal shelters; two in Austin, round rock shelter, and the Georgetown shelter. It was here that I met a cat they named spooky. I was so nervous because I’ve never adopted my own cat, they made the whole process so easy and I felt very supported throughout the adoption. One of the kids opened our gate and my senior dog got out. By the time we noticed, a neighbor called animal control and she was gone. We went to the wrong shelter at first, panicking because she wasn't there. When we finally located her at the Georgetown Animal Shelter, I was greeted by friendly staff, and a happy dog. They let her hang out in the office for a few minutes to cool down after her stroll through the neighborhood, and let me keep a copy of her mug shot. Thank you for keeping her safe for me. My husband and I adopted both of my kittens from this shelter, and it’s one of my favorites. They truly care for all the animals in need and are always ready to answer any questions. The post-adoption documents they provide are incredibly helpful when taking your pets to the vet. Whenever my friends are considering adoption, this is the first place I recommend. Adopted Lainey last week, a 4 month old golden retriever mix. Wonderful experience at Georgetown Animal Shelter — our second rescue from this shelter. Team at the Shelter was professional and helpful and all of Lainey’s paperwork was in order. Definitely recommend the Shelter for those looking to add to their family.

They were very nice and welcoming. When we pulled up and went to the front door there was a sign that said "appointment required" or something along those lines. When we asked one of the workers they said we could come in anyway. My parents took me here for my 16th birthday present, a cat. Overall: very good. nice people, nice pets
