No one greeted us in a heavily staffed store. The puppies are all in extremely small boxes. The building wreaks of animal waste. There is no outdoor space, and that is concerning. Almost all of the puppies were exactly 10 weeks, but it was difficult to verify. There were quite a few with their heads down looking sad. If they had a playmate, they seemed happier. I've served in an animal rescue after receiving abused animals. There are some red flags, especially based on the replies from the owner on other reviews. I strongly encourage you to find an independent breeder and get to know them & tour their entire facility. Your pet's mental & physical wellbeing matter from an early age.

This happened on November 2 2025. Me and my 3 friends walked in to puppy city respectfully and calm “as you would walking into a store” we weren’t planing on buying any animal but we felt bad for them and thought they deserved love. But as soon as we walked it reeked an awful odor like poo and urine. When we walked in there was this lady don’t know her name was giving us dirty looks and was acting like we shouldn’t even be in there. We all realized it pretty quickly But continued to walking around looking for a puppy to be put into a cage or like box with and we found one and thought it was cute. We asked the the worker nicely if we could be put into a box with it but 2 of my friends wanted a different one and told us we couldn’t have more then one per group which may have been true but th

We made numerous trips/visits to both the Harrisonburg and Winchester locations. We traveled over three hours to honor this establishment due to the professional and responsible care of their puppies and cleanliness of their facilities. We finally found a great fit for our family. Every time we visited, the staff was friendly, pens were clean, and all puppies were well taken care of, with water and food readily available in the puppies cages. Our purchase was a great experience and the staff and management went above and beyond to make sure our puppy was healthy and was going to a good home. We purchased a Boston Terrier from Puppy City on December 18th. We had an overall positive experience, no complaints. This is your typical puppy store, lots of dogs, all in small converted baby crib enclosures. However, you can tell the puppies are happy and healthy and that the staff truly do care about the dogs in their care. The prices are a bit steep compared to buying directly from a breeder. We paid $2,900 for a Boston Terrier when you can get them from breeders for roughly $1,500-$2,000. But if you've ever tried to buy from a breeder you know there's waiting lists, super strict lengthy contracts, and often traveling involved. I got Elvis from here and they were amazing! With the purchase of a puppy your also given a bag of food, treats, some toys, puppy pads and a crate for the size dog you get. They are all healthy and well cared for. Even cover ur vet for a year! I love my baby so much! Thank you Puppy City
