Positive Pup Dog Training

I have taken dogs to Elaine at Positive Pup for over 25 years. Between puppies of my own and adult dogs that I have fostered I have brought more than a dozen dogs to Positive Pup for training. I have recommended them to friends and to local people who buy Chesapeake Bay Retriever puppies from me. Elaine’s approach is very easy to understand. The classes are small and while while they may include puppies and dogs who are at slightly different levels of training each dog gets individual attention and the owner gets the instruction they need to help their dog succeed. We have been taking our Chocolate Lab pup for socialization classes with Elaine. She is a very kind Instructor and you can see with her interactions that she loves these dogs. She gives you valuable tips on dog training . Reinforces sit, down , come, stay, wait , leave it. Great starting point for new dog owners and great review if getting a new puppy.. There is also time in the class for free play. My husband and I highly recommend her classes. Fun, Fun, Fun !!

It's a great group class. Elaine the teacher is fantastic. The setting is indoors but there is a large yard as well. It's very low stress. Would recommend.

I admit, I only went once but that is all it took to realize the check was going to clear and my dog was still going to be disobedient. No structure to classes,older aggressive puppies with 8week old puppies is a very irresponsible and dangerous situation. I highly suggest seeking out a class and instructor who actually possesses extensive knowledge in the behavior and ethics of training.

It took me awhile to decide to leave this review because typically I don't leave negative reviews. In this case however several things bug me and I figured if I speak up about it it may help someone else make a more informed decision. First this trainer didn't really help me with any of my concerns and didn't tell me anything I couldn't have easily found on YouTube or searching the internet. Also when it was time for puppy play I warned her he didn't always know his own size and of course when he went to lay on another dog she freaked out and instead of addressing the problem or helping me find a solution she acted nervous and unconfident and just told me to put him back on the leash. That I am fine with but she never addressed the problem. What am I paying you for if not to help with thes
