My experience with PHD equine has been fantastic! I've had Dr. Helinger treat my pony, Phoenix, at the farm I board at and she was incredibly kind to Phoenix, making sure that it was a good experience for her. The exam she conducted was very thorough and she really took her time with Phoenix, making sure to address all of my concerns. When Phoenix's routine bloodwork unexpectedly came back with extremely concerning liver values Dr. Helinger called me right away and explained that I needed to take Phoenix to the clinic for further testing. Selecting her as my newly acquired retired police horses’ vet was the single best decision I have made for them to date. She is compassionate, attentive, educational, and invested in the care of my herd. Beyond that, she is supportive in my endeavor and has been exactly what these horses (and I) needed for a safe and healthy transition to retirement. Dr. Stephanie Helinger has attended both of my "health challenged" horses for the past 18 months and it is truthful to say that she saved both of them! Her assessments of both and subsequent diagnostics (lab, radiographs), modification of diets and the addition of the necessary medications have given me and my horses a level of comfort! She and Tech, Matt have treated my horses with great kindness and obvious skill (my mini can be a wretched handful when blood draw is required) and they are good communicators, as well. Needed a last minute lameness exam. I was able to be fit in the next days schedule. Left with optimism for positive outcome and expected time line for recovery. Dr Porter was detailed in explaining the current status and office staff was very helpful.

PHD has taken such wonderful care of our horses. They are extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and so easy to work with. I highly recommend them from routine care to lameness exams, and anything else under the sun. We wouldn’t take our babies anywhere else.
