This is your typical PetSmart nothing especially fancy, but a solid, dependable store. The fish selection was better than I usually see, which was a nice surprise. The employees seemed friendly and helpful, even though I didn’t interact with them much. One highlight is the clearance section. It can be hit or miss, but I’ve found some great discounts there in the past, so it’s always worth checking. The only real disappointment was the bettas. They were sitting in blue-tinted water from shipment, which didn’t look great and was a bit concerning to see. On the positive side, the reptiles and other animals all appeared healthy and well cared for. Overall, a decent location with friendly staff and occasional good deals, but there’s definitely room for improvement in how the bettas are handled.

If I could give them NO stars I would. Brought my very well cared for poodle there due to her regular groomer closed after 20 years in business. The unprofessional treatment we received just walking through the door was astounding! They refused to groom her due to a little matting. I took her to a private groomer who did an excellent professional job. Look for a reputable groomer!

I’m very disappointed with the customer service at the Flemington location. Over the past couple of visits, I’ve experienced similar issues with staff behavior and response. The employees were not supportive and did not seem willing to answer questions properly. The tone and attitude felt dismissive, which made the experience uncomfortable. As customers, we are paying for the products and simply expect basic respect and professional service — not to feel like we are asking for something free. Customer service plays a big role in the overall shopping experience, especially when purchasing pets and supplies where guidance is important. I hope management looks into this and improves how customers are treated in the future.

Good selection, clean, attentive staff. Manager reacted quickly when he noticed a line forming at check out. He opened a register and then called for additional back up to open another register.

So observed about 20 to 25 dead Betta Fish On my visit there today. There didn’t seem to be anyone to tell, except one very young girl who was stocking shelves who seemed concerned but didn’t say she would do anything about it.. I told the clerk when we were checking out about the dead fish he seemed totally disinterested and said he would mention it to someone. Why sell any living creature if you have no intention of keeping them alive? They house cats for adoption? I can only imagine what they must have to endure.
