Pets Without Parents- Visits by Appointment

I'll be completely honest.. we drove the 30 minutes out here and turned around to go right back home. The neighborhood and building (residential house) was scary. We also called them during their business hours 18 times within the span of 30 minutes trying to schedule an appointment, no one ever answered or called back just kept getting the voicemail prompt. This was around 5pm and they closed at 8pm.

We adopted one of our best dogs we have had from PWP over 10 years ago. Today we adopted another puppy from them. They are easier to work with than some rescue groups and the adoption fees are more reasonable as well. Their facility is an old house and shows it's age. The animals are all extremely well cared for. The staff were all just as nice and understanding as when we adopted our last dog from them. They obviously run a very lean operation and love every animal so I would recommend anyone looking for an animal or wanting to help a good organization to please consider Pets Without Parents.

PWP puts a lot of effort into making sure you’re a right fit for your pet. It’s clear they give lots of love to the animals. When I first met Magnolia, she was much less excited to see me than I was to see her. PWP worked with us to warm Maggie up to me and after a few visits, she was running out the door to greet me. Maggie has moved around a lot prior to me, but it’s nice to say she has found her forever home. I appreciate the work PWP put into Mags and the training they provided to me along the way. Needless to say, she’s made an amazing addition to my life and I hope to be the same to her.

Over the past two years I have adopted two dogs from PWP. They are a no kill shelter that is very straightforward about their expectations. They will verify your address, your current vet, and your references. Adoption comes with a free vet visit which is pretty awesome! The building may seem small but each animal has adequate space and they take the time to make sure they are all spending time OUT of their cages. There was no gross pet smell any of the times I was there. The staff have always communicated very well throughout my adoptions. Notice many poor reviews are from people who had been denied.

Jourdan was a pleasure to work with on the adoption of my new pup, Scout (formerly Forrest). My application was responded to and references checked on the same day I applied and it was approved the following day.
