PetMedic Urgent Care Vet Clinic - Freeport

Our cat, Miss Phanny, had been crying for a couple of days, which was highly unlike her, and going back and forth to the litter box. Thinking she had a urinary tract infection, we contacted PetMedic in Freeport, where we live, and they were able to take us in sooner than we expected.The reception was exceptional. She is fabulous, and her personality should be reflected in all doctors' offices through that greeting and interaction. She brought us into the exam room, and then we met Becky, our tech. OUTSTANDING care, compassion, love, and personality, which are essential to us. She was so careful and caring with Miss Phanny. This was a great place to take our dog for an cyst between his toes. The technician and the vet were both excellent and gave him a good checking out. We left with medication and a plan for other measures for his treatment. We were very pleased with his care and we will be back if he takes ill while visiting the area.

We can't speak highly enough of this practice. Late yesterday afternoon our dog had a bad wound on his leg and the regular vet couldn't see him. I called the Urgent Care clinic at 5:05 and they were able to see him at 5:30. My husband took him, while I stayed home. The tech and doctor both called me to get more information and explain what was going on. They sedated our dog and cleaned his wound. They had thought they were going to have to do a scan and send out tissue for testing, but when they got a closer look decided that those items weren't necessary. We will take him back next week to have the wound rebandaged. It's too bad this is just an urgent care clinic, because we would take both our dogs there regularly if we could. They are compassionate and competent.

My dog had a broken nail that needed prompt attention, and our vet wasn’t able to get us in. PetMedic was recommended to me because they were concerned about infection. I was able to easily set an appointment online for the same day. I drove the hour to Freeport and they immediately took us to the exam room upon arrival. Both Taylor and Dr. McGee were so kind and attentive. The procedure required sedation and even with that, we were there for less than 2 hours. They made sure I was informed along the way and were very thorough about the medications and aftercare. They also checked in 48 hours later to see how my dog was doing. Staff were very friendly and informative. They took good care of my baby who was not feeling good. They were good to him and kept me well informed as to what was going on. I would definitely go there again if needed.
