This store is usually very well maintained, and I have generally had positive experiences. However, during my recent visit, I was extremely concerned about the condition of the goldfish. They appeared to be in very poor health and were clearly not being properly cared for. While I understand that goldfish are often inexpensive and may not have long lifespans, that does not justify neglect. Several fish had visible injuries, including missing scales, bite marks, and partially or completely missing tails. Additionally, there were dead fish at the bottom of the tank. Regardless of cost, all animals deserve humane treatment and proper care. The conditions I observed were deeply concerning and, in my view, inhumane. I find this pet store to have more variety than the other store in town of the big box type. They're about equal as far as product availability for my cats however. As with the other big box pet store, I don't like the live birds and pocket pets or fish in the shops and wish that all that space would go to more adoption areas for cats and dogs. Or more products. I just feel like the birds the pocket pets and the fish just don't have enough space or quality of life while in these cages waiting to be bought. And then I feel like the cats don't have enough space to stretch out. Otherwise it's a good store with reasonable prices although it can be a little pricey on certain things

Great selection of supplies and toys for my dog and he gets so excited as soon as we pull in the lot. He knows he gets to go pick out his own chewy bones and toys. They also have grooming services as well as obedience classes for pet and pet parents. They also carry a large selection of supplies and toys for my cat and my bird as well as fish and other pet supplies.

The store personnel were very attentive and helpful placing the order. My only complaint is I paid an additional shipping charge of ~$17 to receive the order by Wednesday, Feb 4 and the estimated delivery is Friday, Feb 6. I think the extra delivery charges should be refunded.

The lady who sells the fish may be the rudest most criticizing woman I’ve ever met. I went in on separate occasions, merely looking at the fish, only purchasing fish food for the single goldfish I had at home. She asked me if I needed help and I said no. She proceeded to bombard me with questions, judging me for having “too small a tank” and not having everything I needed yet for a fish. Which is obviously why I was at Petco…. I got this goldfish at the fair, so obviously I didn’t have a tank waiting for me at home. He was in a waiting tank. She made me feel like an absolute idiot for this. I go to PetSmart now, but a couple of months later I decided to go to Petco out of pure boredom and possible plants for my tank. She asked me if I needed help, again I said “No, I’m not looking to buy”
