The “care” they give the beta fish is absolutely horrendous. I went into this petco 2 days in a row. The first day I looked at the Betas, there were 2 specific fish who were very sickly but still alive. (But in all honesty, they all looked terrible). Today I returned just to ask them if they could surrender the sickly fish to me so I can put them in my hospital tanks at home and attempt to bring them back to life. Well, all the fish I had seen previously as sick with fungal infections (which is a simple easy fix as long as your willing to put in the care), were dead and still on the shelf. The employees I spoke to tried to blame it on “we’ve had trouble with this last shipment” and I understand, sometimes it’s bad luck and fish die, but this isn’t the first time I’ve seen dead fish on thei

Do not go there looking for aquarium stuff very poor selection. Their tanks are disgusting. Did buy one catfish from them and ended up covered in ick.

Shocked at the State of This Store – Corporate Needs to Step In I recently visited this Petco location for the first time in several months, and I was shocked by the state of the store. The aisles were cluttered with large pallets of dog and cat food, blocking access to many products. One aisle was completely inaccessible due to these pallets. Shelves were bare in many places, yet the floor and aisles were so crowded with boxes and merchandise that it was hard to move around. Some displays were even knocked over, with products scattered on the floor. I asked a staff member if this was due to a recent winter storm. I am extremely upset with this experience. I drove an hour and a half specifically to purchase fish from this store, only to be told when I arrived that they were unable to sell any fish because the tank lights were turned off. This happened on Wednesday night Jan. the 7th 2026 at 6:40 PM, even though the store is supposedly open until 8:00 PM. This is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. If a business advertises that it is open until 8:00, customers should reasonably expect to be able to purchase the products the store sells during those hours. Turning off tank lights and refusing to sell fish more than an hour before closing makes absolutely no sense. This pet store seriously needs to rethink how they care for their fish. The tanks looked neglected, and the fish seemed stressed and unhealthy. To make matters worse, when I tried to buy a fish, they refused to sell me one even though the store was open until 8 PM and the tank lights were off—clearly an excuse to avoid serving customers. This level of poor customer service combined with neglectful animal care is unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who actually cares about their pets. They need to step up or shut down.
