Petco Grooming

I really wanted to like this Petco because I spend a lot of time in GCTC but I’ll be going back to my regular Petco. We walked in to our 11 o’clock grooming appointment at 10:50 and the woman looked at me in disgust and said “oh you’re early”….. Before she even addressed me though I saw her working with a larger senior dog. She had no respect for the old dog’s joints and was demanding it to jump down from the table….which you could see he was stressed to do. On top of that she told me that the basic bath (no grooming) was going to take 5 hours….whereas the normal Petco we go to takes less than 1 hour. I cancelled my appointment right then and there. I think unfortunately they were understaffed, causing the woman to be overwhelmed, but overall I didn’t feel comfortable even leaving my d

Dominick is amazing!! He is so gentle with our Golden, and he does a great job! Her hair is so full and thick, and she looks so clean and pretty after each groom. I highly recommend him !!

Erin does a great job grooming our little shitzu dog. He gets very nervous and she is always calming and gentle with him. We love his haircut and he does too!

Kendal and Erin are always great with Taco. Thank you both for taking care of him when I bring him in.

Unfortunately the groomer was not able to take our dog for a bath due to being uncomfortable. My dog was barking ferociously so at some level I understand. Rule#1: When a large dog barks do not turn away or bring your arms in like you are scared as it only makes it worse. He is big but here are pictures of my husband washing him in a diy dog spa at PetPeople by Hollywood Feed (amazing by the way!). He’s docile in the bath 🛁 If the groomer had ignored his loud barks and clipped on the leash he would have gone with her and calmed down. This was our first experience with PetCo grooming so we are likely to go elsewhere in the future.
